Why we run an affiliate program

Most of our buyers do not arrive on the LeadsBlue catalogue through a search query. They arrive through a recommendation — a cold-email playbook on a Substack, a YouTube tutorial on lead-list workflows, an agency owner telling a peer where to source bulk databases. Recommendation traffic converts at roughly 3–4× higher than paid acquisition for our SKU mix. An affiliate model is the most honest way to compensate that.

Half of every sale to your audience goes to you. We can run the model at this rate because our marginal cost per database is close to zero — we compile bulk data once and sell it many times. There is no per-seat hosting, no API call cost, no headcount tied to your customer. The same reason our pricing is much lower than ZoomInfo or Apollo is the same reason we can pay 50%.

This is a partnership, not a clickbait pyramid. We do not approve every applicant — we approve people with a real audience or a real outreach channel that fits our buyer profile. The bar is real-world traffic, not vanity follower counts.

How the program works, step by step

Step 1 · Apply
Submit the application at leadsblue.com/affiliate-registration. We ask for your name, email, primary traffic source, and a short note on how you plan to promote LeadsBlue. There is no upfront fee.
Step 2 · Manual review
A human reviews each application. Average turnaround is 24–48 hours. We approve roughly 60% of applications; most rejections are because the traffic source is not a fit (general personal-finance audience, unrelated niches, etc).
Step 3 · Get your dashboard
Approved affiliates get access to a dashboard powered by SliceWP at leadsblue.com/affiliate-account. You get a unique referral link of the form https://leadsblue.com/?aff=YOUR_ID, click and conversion stats, and live earnings.
Step 4 · Promote
Send traffic from your blog, newsletter, YouTube channel, podcast, or wherever your audience already pays attention. Direct the link to a specific product page (better) or to the homepage (works, but converts lower). The cookie persists for 30 days.
Step 5 · Earn
A sale credited to your link earns 50% of the order value. A $2,000 top-tier package = $1,000. A $499 mid-tier package = $249.50. A $45 single-state list = $22.50. Refunded orders are not paid out, and partial refunds reduce the commission proportionally.
Step 6 · Get paid in crypto
Confirmed earnings from the previous calendar month are paid out between the 5th and 10th of the following month, in BTC, ETH, or USDT (your choice, set in the dashboard). Minimum payout threshold is $100 — anything below rolls over to the next cycle.

What you can realistically earn

Earnings depend entirely on the volume and quality of traffic you send. We will not project a number for you, because we do not know your audience. But here is what the maths look like for a few common scenarios at the flat 50% commission rate:

Sales / month
Avg. order value
Monthly earnings
Annualised
5 sales
$300
$750
$9,000
15 sales
$500
$3,750
$45,000
10 sales
$2,000 (top SKU)
$10,000
$120,000
25 sales
$2,000 (top SKU)
$25,000
$300,000

Higher volumes are absolutely possible — our top three affiliates each clear five-figure months — but they took six to nine months to build the funnel that produces those numbers. Plan for a slow ramp. Treat the first 90 days as audience-building rather than income-replacement.

Who tends to do well in this program

Roughly 70% of our paid commissions in the past year went to affiliates in five categories:

Cold-email agencies

Agency owners running outreach for clients who recommend specific list providers as part of their service stack. Highest average order value of any segment.

B2B newsletter operators

Operators of paid or free newsletters in sales, growth, and marketing. Embedded recommendations in playbook posts convert well.

YouTube and Loom creators

Tutorials covering cold-email workflows, lead-sourcing, or sales-engagement-tool comparisons. Video tends to drive longer-cookie clicks.

SaaS review and comparison sites

Sites that already rank for "ZoomInfo alternative", "Apollo alternative", "best B2B database" — adding LeadsBlue as a budget option converts strongly.

SEO bloggers in adjacent niches

Marketing automation, growth hacking, freelance lead-gen consultancy. Content that ranks for buyer-intent queries works best.

LinkedIn and X creators

Creators sharing growth-team workflows or sales-tooling content with a B2B audience. Lower per-click value, higher volume.

What we approve and what we don't

We approve
We don't approve
Real audience or traffic source you can describe in one sentence
"I'll figure it out after I get approved" — a clear plan is the whole bar
Niche relevance — sales, marketing, B2B growth, agency operations
Crypto airdrop / forex / get-rich-quick audiences (poor fit, high refunds)
Honest disclosure that you receive a commission (FTC § 5 / EU equivalent)
Hiding the affiliate relationship — grounds for immediate removal
Linking to specific product pages with context
Promoting LeadsBlue via spam email — the irony is not lost on us; we ban it
Making your own organic content about lead-sourcing workflows
Bidding on "leadsblue" branded keywords in paid search
Including caveats about validation, deliverability, and compliance
Promising buyers a specific income or guaranteed deliverability rate

Compliance and disclosure obligations

Affiliate marketing is regulated in most jurisdictions you are likely to operate in. The headline rule is simple and consistent across them: tell your audience you receive a commission. The frameworks that explicitly require this:

FTC § 5 (US) UCPD (EU) CMA / ASA (UK) Competition Act (Canada) CASL (Canada) ACL (Australia) CCPA (California) LGPD (Brazil) PIPEDA (Canada) PDPA (Singapore) DPDP Act (India)

The FTC's plain-English wording is a useful template: a clear, conspicuous disclosure that your audience would catch on a first read — placed near the recommendation, not buried in a footer. "I get a commission if you buy through this link" is plenty. #ad on social posts. A short italicised line at the top of a blog review. None of this hurts conversion — buyers expect it from credible publishers.

What we ourselves enforce

  • You must include a visible affiliate disclosure on any page or post that contains your LeadsBlue referral link.
  • You must not impersonate LeadsBlue, our staff, or our brand in ads, emails, or content.
  • You must not run paid search on our brand keywords (leadsblue, leadsblue.com, common misspellings).
  • You must not promote our products inside spam emails or unsolicited cold outreach. Ironic — and we mean it.
  • You must not make income claims you cannot substantiate. "Earn $25,000 in your first month" is not credible and we will not associate with affiliates who say it.

Violations are grounds for removal from the program and forfeiture of unpaid commissions. We do not enjoy enforcing this and do not expect to — most affiliates run clean.

Payout schedule and crypto details

Day 1–30 of the month
Sales credited to your link accumulate in your dashboard. You can see them in real-time as orders are placed and confirmed. Refund window is 7 days for most products.
Day 1–4 of next month
Settlement window. Confirmed sales (past their refund window) move from "pending" to "due". Refunded sales are deducted. Bonuses applied.
Day 5–10 of next month
Crypto payout window. We send to the wallet address you set in the dashboard. BTC on the Bitcoin network, ETH on ERC-20, USDT on TRC-20 (lowest fees) or ERC-20 / BEP-20 on request. You pay your own network fees on receiving.
Below the threshold
Minimum payout is $100. If your earned-but-unpaid balance is below that on settlement day, it rolls over to next month. We do not deduct dormancy fees or expire unpaid balances.

Frequently asked questions

Is the commission really 50% on every sale?

Yes — flat 50% on the order value of any product on the catalogue, including the top $2,000 targeted-audience package. There are no tiers, no products excluded from the commission, and no reduction on volume discount codes (in fact, your link still tracks the original order value, not the discounted one).

Can I get paid in fiat instead of crypto?

Currently no. We chose crypto-only because the affiliate base is global and crypto sidesteps the international wire-transfer fees and currency conversion losses that would otherwise come out of your commission. If this is a deal-breaker, we are the wrong programme.

How long does approval take?

Average 24–48 hours during the working week. Applications submitted on Friday or Saturday are usually reviewed Monday. We email both approvals and rejections; rejections include the reason.

What is the cookie window?

30 days, last-click attribution. If a visitor clicks your link, leaves, and returns through a different affiliate's link within 30 days and buys, that sale credits the most recent click. If they buy directly without re-clicking another affiliate link, it credits to you.

Can I run paid ads to drive traffic?

Yes, with one carve-out: no bidding on LeadsBlue brand keywords or close variants in Google Ads, Bing Ads, or any other platform. Otherwise paid social, paid newsletter sponsorships, and paid YouTube placements are all allowed.

Do you provide creative assets — banners, copy, swipe files?

Yes. Approved affiliates get access to a small library of banner ads (sized for common ad slots), three pre-written email templates, three pre-written X/LinkedIn post variants, and product screenshots. The library is intentionally lean — original content from you converts better than templated content from us.

What happens if a buyer requests a refund?

Refunded orders are not paid out. If the refund occurs after we have already paid your commission, the amount is deducted from your next payout. Refund rate across the catalogue runs about 4% — which is low for digital products and one of the reasons we can run a 50% commission programme.

Can I promote LeadsBlue from outside the US?

Yes. The programme is open worldwide. Roughly 55% of our affiliate sales come from outside the US — the UK, Canada, Australia, India, the Philippines, Germany, and the Netherlands lead the international mix. Crypto payout works the same in every country.

Is there a minimum sales requirement to stay active?

No. We do not deactivate accounts for low volume. Some affiliates make one sale every two months; we are happy to keep paying them. The only reason an account gets removed is rule violations — bidding on brand keywords, hidden disclosure, spam, etc.

Who runs the affiliate side of LeadsBlue?

The same team that has been compiling the database catalogue since 2018 — there is no separate affiliate department. Application reviews, payouts, and disputes are handled by a single point of contact. Reach us via the live chat on leadsblue.com/contact-us or at contact@leadsblue.com.
